No doubt, weight belt is used to attach weights and then regulate the divers buoyancy since the lungs and wetsuits causes positive buoyancy. Rubber weight belts make it easier for freediving / spearfishing as they stick to you or your suit better than nylon, plus there is a little bit of stretch in them to add breathing.
